Scholarship award
Dr. Costilla Reyes received the Multicultural Scholarship Award through the University of North Texas (UNT) Multicultural Scholastic Award Program, which provides scholarships to academically talented students from diverse cultural backgrounds. The award list in his doctoral thesis dates it to 2013, during the master’s program in electrical engineering he completed at UNT in 2014.
The scholarship was one of several forms of support during his graduate studies in Texas. His master’s degree was funded by a fellowship from Mexico’s Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACyT), and he also received UNT’s International Scholarship for academic achievement in 2013. During the same period he served as an international student ambassador representing Mexico and UNT International, as an international peer mentor for newly admitted students, and as a graduate student senator.
